FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
VANCOUVER, BC. June 2023 – Lights, camera, action! Calling all aspiring young filmmakers, the Teen Short Film Competition is now open for submissions. With no entrance fee and the freedom to shoot on any device, this competition provides an exciting opportunity for amateur filmmakers to unleash their creativity and make their mark in the industry.
Organized by Story Institute, this competition welcomes films of all genres, ages, and skill levels. Whether you’re a budding Spielberg or just starting out, this platform offers an inclusive space for young filmmakers to showcase their talent and captivate audiences with their unique storytelling abilities.
To ensure a seamless submission process, participants are required to adhere to a set of rules and specifics. Films must be 5 minutes or less, including any titles or credits. Entrants have the flexibility to shoot their films on their phones or their preferred cameras, empowering them to express their vision using the tools they’re most comfortable with.
In the spirit of promoting a positive and family-friendly environment, the competition strictly prohibits inappropriate or suggestive material, as well as foul language. Each film must begin with the sentence “Today is going to be the best day ever” and conclude with “And this is why we can’t have nice things.” These unique requirements add an exciting twist to the submissions, challenging participants to craft engaging narratives within the given framework.
Submission is hassle-free, with films to be emailed to [email protected] by July 15, 2023. To ensure smooth processing, files must be in MP4 format and not exceed 100MB in size. All received entries will be carefully evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges, comprising industry professionals and creative experts.
The much-anticipated winners of the Teen Short Film Competition will be announced in early August 2023. The recognition and exposure gained from this competition can serve as a launching pad for young filmmakers, propelling their careers and opening doors to exciting opportunities within the industry.
