Story Institute is proud to offer a full-ride scholarship for one lucky student each academic year. Kirby Morrow has been a foundational part of Story Institute, instructing, mentoring and creating what we are today. Kirby was top of his game in both voice acting and traditional acting on screen. You’ll probably have heard of him in one of his many guises, Michaelangelo in Ninja Turtles, Ninjago, DragonBall Z, X-Men, Transformers, Inuyasha, Class of the TItans, Carebears, Lego Starwars, Parked, the list goes on as he was such a well-loved voice! We would be honoured to carry on his spirit, by giving a student a chance to thrive as an actor. Here’s how to apply:

Kirby Morrow was one of the most iconic voice actors of his time. He was also an award winning actor, writer, director, and stand up comic. He was a founding teacher of Story Institute and his legacy will continue to live on through his students, his fans, his family, his friends, and every life he touched.

Rising Star Scholarship Applicants can receive a $3,000 scholarship
Eligibility Criteria Must be enrolled to Professional Working Actor Program (12 month)
Must demonstrate satisfactory progress and academic excellence (quantitative and qualitative elevation)
Must submit application and meet deadlines

There are 55 BC Excellence Scholarships available to recognize well-rounded B.C. graduates. Winners demonstrate service and leadership, both at school and in their communities. Winners also show aptitude and commitment to their chosen career paths. They will receive a $5000 scholarship voucher to use towards their post-secondary tuition.
BC Achievement Scholarships recognize the top 8000 graduates in the province. The Ministry will determine recipients based on achievement in Grades 10, 11, and 12 courses that satisfy B.C. Graduation Program requirements, including elective courses. Grad Transitions will not be included.
A cumulative average percentage will be calculated and form the basis for determining winners, who receive a $1250 scholarship voucher to use towards their post-secondary tuition. Students do not apply for this scholarship.
Awards of $5,000 is available for students who demonstrate financial need and display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity.
This $500.00 prize is open to students who are living in BC, minimum 2.5 GPA and also must write the winning response to the essay questions.
Scholarships are awarded to high school students entering college or university who have shown exceptional initiative in making a meaningful and lasting difference in their community. The award includes full tuition at any approved university or college in Canada and $7500 per year toward living expenses to a maximum of $70,000. While applicants must be academically capable of entering and successfully completing either university of college, the focus of these scholarships is not primarily on rewarding the highest marks. The key criterion is outstanding community leadership, in balance with the student’s academic performance.
This $7,000 yearly award is looking for candidates that demonstrate the highest ideals and qualities of citizenship, courage in overcoming obstacles and involvement in humanitarian service while in pursuit of excellence in their academic, amateur sport, fitness, health and voluntary community.
This $1000.00 award is granted annually to a well-rounded Grade 12 student who has an understanding of the importance of parent involvement in education. The student must be from a school that has a PAC that is a member of BCCPAC.
There are four $500.00 awards for students with current Lifesaving Society awards that are actively employed by a BC & Yukon Branch affiliate as a lifeguard or Lifesaving Instructor (part time or full time) and are planning to pursue a post-secondary education in the subsequent school term.
